I loved the trio because they were just so pathetic. I thought it worked because at the time, Buffy was feeling kind of pathetic as well. It reflected her state of mind well that the only villians to face were three losers from highschool. Buffy probably though she had past her prime, just like they had...or, you know....not.

Spike, who is oddly also my favourite Buffy hero.

I voted for Spike too, I really wish that "Angel" went on longer because Angel and Spike together were hilarious.

Claire (Glory) and Harry (The Mayor) have both been to Sunnydale Central, and they were both as nice as their characters were evil.
Caleb would have to be very high on my list, because who knew Mal had it in him?

It's a tie between Wilkins and Glory, but ultimately I voted for Glory. I have a preference for villains who aren't so obviously evil. Wilkins came across as almost likable until he started going into his plans and even then he almost made them seem as benign. Glory was how I would picture an early-Cordelia if she were a villain. Completely self absorbed and fashion conscious with a blase attitude towards the destruction and mayhem she creates. But Glory was a god and could bring down a building with a tantrum, so she got my vote.

My choices for favorite villians on Buffy are equally tied up: The Gentlemen (HUSH) and Sweet (ONCE MORE WITH FEELING). The Gentlemen: the portrayal of these silent, seemingly kind creepy dudes instantly brought me back to my childhood where things really did live under the bed waiting to get me! Sweet: Hinton Battle certainly brought this demon to larger than life! KUDOs Mr. Battle! The Sweet character embodied all those things that your folks warned you about when you first told them that instead of being a doctor or a lawyer, you were going to be a performer. He was cool, suave and deadly. Besides, I'm a sucker for a little soft-shoe!
